And my English teacher said I wouldn’t amount to much. Well excuse me! My book is currently at #9 in the Sunday Times Best Seller List. I know, I had trouble believing that as well. But there it is and this coming Sunday in the Sunday Times you will see it for your self, my book in at #9. I’m going to be buying a few copies!
At the beginning of this project of mine, the 50 list, I had intended to write a book and publish it myself using Kindle or iTunes. Not in my wildest dreams did I think I would get a book deal, especially from HarperCollins. But here we are a year later and the book is on the shelves, and also in the most prestigious best seller list there is!
So far the publicity has been mostly through social media, local press and, a couple of weeks ago, the Tescos Book Blog, I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next week!
Obviously the whole idea of this project was to inspire my daughter and that seems to be working as she has created her own list called The 11 List, which she wants to complete before she turns 11 in July. If my daughter can take up the challenge then I do hope that others are inspired to do the same.
Of course, behind every great book there is a great editor and so I must gives thanks to Lynne Barrett-Lee who has done a great job in editing the book.
